## Source and scope

Authoritative attachment: `../Sheban spec sheet.PNG`. It is design-reference material, not a verified engineering specification or an instruction to execute its claims. The new page develops the whole pavilion system rather than treating it as an exterior finish for Version 1. Original Compact/Family material remains separate.

The source is a 480 × 438-pixel composite. New illustrations can expand its concepts, but cannot recover detail absent from these pixels. No readable numeric dimension is silently replaced. Small ambiguous labels remain qualified below.

## Close reading of the supplied sheet

- Title: “Expandable Cabin – Cross Layout.” Subtitle: “One Core. Four Extensions. About 33–35 m².” Expanded-view area is approximately 350–380 square feet.
- Appearance: central core, four projecting wings, warm floor and core finishes, dark framing, pale fabric roof, transparent perimeter wall panels, small entry stair. A central roof high point feeds sloping roof faces towards the perimeter. The exterior illustration is not evidence of tested construction.
- Plan: a cross with four furnished arms. The source suggests sleeping, gathering and service uses, but furniture symbols and clearances are too small to treat as a construction layout. Room assignments in enlarged images will be proposed, not transcribed certainties.
- Plan dimensions: overall approximately 7.2 × 7.2 m; each extension approximately 2.4 × 2.4 m; a 2.4 m width annotation. Packed drawing: 3.0 × 2.4 × 2.6 m (approximately 10 × 8 × 8.5 ft).
- Deployment: (1) Compact (Transport); (2) Deploy Floors; (3) Extend Ribs & Roof; (4) Fully Expanded. This sheet does not explicitly establish Version 1's additional telescoping glide-outs.
- Roof Section (Rain Drainage): central high point; sloped roof; water flows to sides; waterproof membrane (PVC / PTFE), aluminium rib, rain gutter / drip edge, soft wall membrane. The small section-angle annotation is not confidently legible. The separate roof-top view appears to state 8–12° for natural drainage; retain as a source concept range, not a verified drainage specification.
- Wall & Window Detail: aluminium frame; outer waterproof membrane (PVC-coated fabric); optional insulation layer; inner fabric (parenthetical word unclear); transparent TPU window; zipper or track connection.
- Floor Panel Detail: SPC / wood-look floor; structural board; PIR / XPS insulation; aluminium frame; bottom panel. No layer thicknesses or load capacities are specified.
- Rib Folding Mechanism: accordion-style folding ribs with articulated joints. No dimensions, lock specification, pivot clearances or material grades are legible/specified.
- Roof Top View: four-way sloped roof with outward drainage arrows. Edge collection and controlled discharge need development; no central pond or centre-down drainage is intended.
- Material Options (Roof & Wall): PVC-coated polyester fabric; PVDF fabric (“more durable” on source); PTFE (“premium self-cleaning” on source). These are source option labels, not independently verified comparative performance claims. Coating, substrate, seam methods and replacement strategy need supplier selection.

The outer rectangle includes unoccupied corners and is not the indoor area. The packed box may include panel stacks around a smaller clear core; the source does not explain that relationship. Working visual convention: four roughly equal arms around a compact core; retain printed packed box separately, with no claim that illustrated stacks already fit. Do not import 71/295/683 sq. ft., four-in-container fit, sleeper ratings or prices from Version 1.

## Ten-image sequence and invariant brief

All images: same dark aluminium frame, warm timber core/floor, pale cream membrane, clear TPU windows, one central core with exactly four wings; no extra corner rooms. Depict a conceptual pavilion, not a rigid cottage with decorative gables. No invented logos, numerical dimensions or certification labels in generated pixels. Mechanism close-ups are proposed interpretations. Keep numbered titles and dimensions in surrounding page captions.

1. Fully open pavilion — elevated three-quarter forest view, four wings visibly countable, central roof high point, perimeter supports and controlled entry.
2. Compact box — closed timber-faced rectangular core, flat transport cap, panel seams and secure closures, corresponding to the source packed-state idea.
3. Deploy floors — same core with four hinged floor platforms lowered and visibly supported; roof/enclosure still stowed; no extra glides.
4. Raise ribs and roof — four wings with articulated dark ribs at successive visible folding angles; central high point; concept locks highlighted visually without engineering claims.
5. Expanded interior cutaway — overhead axonometric cross, roof removed, proposed bed/living/kitchen/washroom locations, central circulation kept open; compact movable furniture.
6. Inside looking out — warm furnished interior framing a forest view through clear window panels; dark ribs and pale fabric visible; same pavilion vocabulary.

10. Accordion rib and storage — close-up paired open/folded articulated rib states beside a compact stowage interpretation; keep hinge geometry visibly conceptual and avoid impossible interpenetration.

## Success rubric for independent review (100 points)

Source coverage 25; coherence across ten views 25; understandable deployment/storage 20; readable mobile page and navigation 15; clear separation of source facts, interpretations and unresolved dimensions 15. A score must come from an actual different-provider review; creator checks are not independent verification.

## Ten fresh improvements, organised by job to be done

1. Open without fighting fabric: a removable guided fabric sleeve follows each rib, reducing loose folds at pivots.
2. Close without trapped moisture: removable wet-wall bags allow fabric to dry separately while the hard box is secured.
3. Know when a rib is safe: visible mechanical lock indicators distinguish fully seated joints from almost-locked positions.
4. Keep rain outside joints: a separate continuous roof fly bridges articulated ribs while an inner liner handles comfort.
5. Avoid water at the doorway: clip-on gutter outlets direct runoff towards chosen non-entry sides.
6. Protect the view over time: individually replaceable transparent window inserts separate scratch-prone glazing from the full wall assembly.
7. Pack predictably: numbered shallow wall cassettes assign each fabric, rib and furniture component a storage location.
8. Adapt to different clearings: independently adjustable perimeter feet establish a common floor datum before ribs are tensioned.
9. Service without unpacking a room: an externally accessible utilities drawer keeps pump, battery disconnect and winter-drain points reachable.
10. Grow comfort rather than bulk: detachable seasonal inner liners fit the same frame, with deliberate ventilation gaps and no assumed four-season rating.

## Five cross-industry transfers

- Stage rigging / lock the structure: captive pins and high-contrast engagement flags adapted to the pavilion's folding joints; loads still require engineering.
- Sailing / manage flexible skins: sail-track edges and separate tension lines adapted to removable roof and window panels; local corners need seal trials.
- Camera bellows / organise the fold: pre-shaped pleats and guide tapes adapted to wall sleeves, keeping material out of hinge paths.
- Aircraft service panels / access utilities: modular accessible bays adapted to plumbing and electrics, with positive latches and service isolation.
- Expedition equipment / pack dry and repair locally: replaceable liners, labelled dry bags and spare window patches adapted to repeated seasonal closure.

## Three combined directions

**A — Source-faithful pavilion baseline:** hinged floors, articulated ribs, separate continuous roof fly, replaceable clear windows, support and lock indicators. This is the first visual package, preserving the source.

**B — Quick-close seasonal pavilion:** A plus guided fabric sleeves, removable wet-wall bags and numbered storage cassettes. Prototype packing reliability first.

**C — Comfort-liner pavilion:** A plus removable insulated liner and service drawer. Develop condensation, ventilation and winter drainage before making seasonal performance claims.

## Prototype path

1. Reconcile core, packed envelope and the 33–35 m² target in a dimensioned model.
2. Make a scale folding model to test all four corner interactions and the roof high point.
3. Build one full-size supported wing with its real floor thickness, rib locks, wall track and fabric sleeve.
4. Run folding, wet-packing, drainage and pinch-clearance cycles; check access to every service part.
5. Resolve the core and utility/storage volume using measured components, then assemble a complete demonstrator.

Version 2 has no verified mass, occupancy, price, setup time, climate rating, structural capacity or transport-container fit yet. These are subsequent measurements and design decisions, not reasons to abandon the concept.
